The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń tries to provide accommodation for international students participating in the exchange programmes. Since the number of places is limited, Erasmus+ students who submit their application forms via IRK system to the Department of International Partnerships and Educational Mobility - DIPEM ("Erasmus+ Office") early (before the 1st of JUNE or the 1st of NOVEMBER respectively) are given priority. Erasmus+ students usually occupy rooms in the student house:
- no. 9 (DS. 9) on Bielany campus, ul. Gagarina 21, 87-100 Toruń, tel. +48 56 611 43 62,
- no. 10 (DS. 10) ul. Gagarina 27, 87-100 Toruń, tel. +48 56 611 45 78,
- no. 11 (DS. 11) ul. Gagarina 33, tel. +48 56 611 44 79.
There are studios consisting of 2 rooms (which could be single or double) with a shared toilet, a shower and a kitchenette. There are also rooms available at the Student's House no. 2 at the Center Campus (ul. Mickiewicza 6/8, tel. +48 56 612 11 80), which is very close to the Old Town.

APPLYING FOR ACCOMMODATION IN STUDENT HOUSES
You apply for accommodation via our online enrollment system (IRK) - detailed instructions will be sent directly to the student via email.
PRICE
The prices are:
- for a single room is approximately 800 złoty per month (about 180 Euro);
- for a double room is approximately 600 złoty per month per person (about 135 Euro).
The rent must be paid by the 15th of each month.
Within 7 days of the date of arrival Erasmus students are obligated to pay a deposit for their room which equals the amount of their monthly rent. It means that if you are to live in a single room, you will have to pay at the beginning of your stay 2 x 800 złoty; whereas if you are to live in a double room, you will be asked to pay 2 x 600 złoty. The deposit will be given to you back after your departure, provided your room will be in a very good condition.
If you plan to stay in the Student House during the summer holiday period, the fee for a place in a student house has to be paid at the time of moving in, and in the case of continuation of stay in the following month, by the 5th day of the ongoing month. Since you will no longer be considered an NCU student you can expect a higher fee for a place (VAT will be added).
ARRIVAL
The Erasmus+ office will email you the address of your dormitory approximately 1-3 weeks before arrival.
A person who has been granted a place in the student house by 30 September should move in by 7 October of that year, or notify the student house administration of a later date. Failure to do so shall be deemed to be a resignation from a place in the student house.
Student House is open for residents 24/7 – you can enter at the most convenient time for you.
EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES
Each room is equipped with a bed, desks, bookshelves, and chairs. It has a shower, a toilet, and a kitchenette fitted with some cupboards, a refrigerator, and an electric kettle shared by students. You will probably need your own cutlery, pots and pans.
There is also a shared kitchen on every floor equipped with a gas cooker and a sink (hot & cold water). Sheets and a pillowcase are provided every month. You will need your own towels.
Each dormitory provides self-service launderettes called PRALNIA (you can buy tokens for one wash at the reception desk). Students themselves are required to clean their rooms. Please leave your room nice and clean when moving out, the way you would like to find it yourself upon arrival! If you return your room untidy, the student house manager will calculatethe cleaning costs, which then you will be charged for.
The Internet network is available in all student dormitories (every room is connected to it for free); however, you should have your own computer or notebook and open a university account to be able to access it. Additionally, you have to buy a special cable (around 15 zł in every computer shop in Toruń) to be able to plug in.
There is a Reception in each dormitory which is open 24/7 for residents. It is a place from which you get keys to your room and where you leave them each time you go out of the building.

Abstract of rules at Student's House
DEPARTURE
If you want to leave Toruń earlier than it was stated in your Invitation Letter, you should inform the Student’s House Manager about the exact date of your departure at least one month beforehand (30 days in advance). If you do not keep this deadline but/and you would like to leave your room in the first half of a month, you will have to pay the charge for the whole next month.
According to the regulations, residents leaving Student’s House between the 1st and 15th of a month are asked to pay half of a monthly charge. Whereas students leaving rooms after the 15th of a month will pay the full monthly charge.
Room check! One or two days before your departure (or Friday, if you plan to leave at the weekend or on Monday) from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m. you need to go to the dorm manager and tell her that your room is ready for an inspection. The manager then will go with you to your room to confirm that your room is in a good condition and that everything is in accordance with your Delivery and acceptance protocol and Equipment Card. Your room, toilet and kichen should be clean and your payments should be made. The Manager shall fill in your Clearance slip. If you return your room untidy, the student house manager will calculate the cleaning costs, which then you will be charged for.
Please note that the Department of International Partnerships and Educational Mobility - DIPEM ("Erasmus+ Office") does not provide help in looking for private accommodation.
