Winter Semester: from October to mid-February
Summer Semester: from mid-February to the end of June

Please note that the traineeship is not bound by the academic year - you can be our trainee in the time most convenient for you and your supervisor.


Deadlines

You must inform the Erasmus+ Office at NCU about your arrival at least one month before your traineeship starts.


Application

  1. Find your supervisor
    • Contact a person from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń that you would like to work with. You can find our academic teachers on the faculty websites, LinkedIn, Google Scholar, etc. 
      OR
    • Contact Erasmus+ Office (traineeship@umk.pl;erasmus@cm.umk.pl). We will forward your email to the appropriate faculty/ unit coordinator, who will help you to find an available traineeship position or a supervisor.

      Please remember to send CV and motivation letter!

  2. Preparing Learning Agreement for Traineeship
    Once you have found your supervisor, agree on the internship form, terms, and programme. Prepare your Learning Agreement for Traineeship in cooperation with your home institution coordinator and NCU supervisor. Before signing the document, the Learning Agreement has to be checked by the NCU faculty coordinator and Erasmus+ Office at NCU. 
  3. Online application (IRK)
    To apply to Erasmus+ programme at NCU please use our online enrollment system (IRK):

    Detailed instruction on how to apply will be sent directly to the trainee via email.

    Required documents:
    • Transcript of Records or the last achieved higher education diploma needs to be issued in English or Polish, or translated by a sworn translator

    • Language Certificate proving at least a B2 (CEFR) level of English or Polish
      We accept official proficiency language certificates like TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS) or "internal" University language proficiency forms certified by a Language Teacher at the Sending Institution
      Important! Confirmations by private teachers are not valid.
      Our Coordinators may additionally wish to check your language competence individually e.g., by an online test or interview

    • Application Form signed by applicant's home University generated from IRK

    • Scan of a valid passport or identity document - make sure it's valid!

    • Learning Agreement - please upload the document signed by ALL THE PARTIES.

  4. Invitation Letter
    Once the application is completed and the Learning Agreement is accepted by the Faculty Coordinator, an official Invitation Letter will be sent directly to the trainee.

Insurance

Each student is required to have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay at NCU. It is recommended that you have a confirmation of the insurance in English or Polish. More information here.


Accommodation

We try to guarantee double rooms for all the Erasmus+ trainees. More details about accommodation here


Health & Safety course (BHP)

One of the essential and obligatory responsibilities at NCU is passing the Health and Safety Elements course. It consists of a few presentations and a test. You must pass the test within a week from your arrival. Details will be sent by email.
